Cottonwood buds has the most unique smell~it's a scent like no other truly holding the smell of spring within it's resinous buds. Also known as "Balm of Gilead", this salve has been used for centuries to help with variety of skin troubles, from cuts and scrapes to minor burns and bruises.The sap-filled buds of the populus trichocarpa contain antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, & pain-relieving properties in this skin-healing salve.
 
Every spring I harvest the sap filled buds, submerge them in olive or sunflower oil for 1 year to create a beautifully infused oil. I then create the salve by adding candelilla wax. This salve never disappoints.
